Media reports US aerial tankers on its way to Middle East
Open hostilities between Iran and Israel entered their fourth day after Israeli airstrikes last Thursday struck Iranian nuclear and military sites, killing senior officials and prompting Iran to respond with a barrage of missile attacks on Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa.
The US has supported Israeli operations, with President Donald Trump praising the strikes and stating that the US may become directly involved if its own interests come under attack — although there are no plans for a direct intervention at this time.
Flight data shows numerous KC-135 and KC-46 tankers en route to the Middle East. According to Military Watch Magazine, these aircraft may be meant to refuel Israeli Air Force missions or US aircraft if the conflict expands. The report also highlights that some European allies are participating in aerial refueling operations and that the US is offering satellite data and missile defense support.
Axios reported on Sunday that Israeli officials asked the US to help attack Iran’s Fordow enrichment site, but US officials dismissed the proposal, stating it was not currently under consideration. Nonetheless, Iran has condemned US support for Israel and described it as complicit in aggression against Iran.
Some Iranian sources have said Iran’s retaliation will soon spread to “all areas occupied by this [Israeli] regime and related US bases in the region.” Trump responded by warning that any attack on US forces will be met with overwhelming force and insisted the US was not involved in the attack on Iran, adding a call for negotiations instead.
