Four insiders familiar with the matter told the media outlet that the intended focus of the discussion would center on a diplomatic push to revive the nuclear agreement and seek an end to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is set to return to Washington, DC later Monday, cutting short his involvement in the G7 summit held in Canada as tensions in the Middle East intensify.
"I have to be back early for obvious reasons," Trump told reporters, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
In the wake of rising hostilities, Trump also urged civilians in Tehran to "immediately" evacuate the city.
"Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again!"
"Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!" he declared on his Truth Social platform.
Hostilities surged since Friday, when Israel carried out a series of coordinated air and drone strikes targeting multiple locations across Iran, including military and nuclear sites. Tehran responded with retaliatory attacks, further escalating the conflict.
